A few Saturdays ago, I went downtown for a girl’s weekend. We decided to stay at the Pinnacle for its location and view!
Preliminary Evaluation: For the price (after we split it), the night we had, the close proximity to Granville and of course the view (deal breaker!), I’d recommend!
Service: Our initial experience was upon arrival when we phoned to ask about parking. The lady was very unsure, kept saying it was up to us and rudely said bye. Not very professional. However, during the remainder of our stay, the staff was great. The lady at the front desk was great & one of the staff members got us masks for our Uber ride. Due to covid service wasn’t as fast when phoning up for extra items, however that’s understandable with less staff. As well, we phoned really late at night (aka 2 am) to request a late checkout time and they said yes without hesitation.
Room: Like many Van hotels, the decor is slightly outdated. It always amazes me how some of these nicer hotels haven’t got a room makeover but that’s a whole other discussion. Back to the room, it’s bright and it’s spacious. We stayed on the 10th floor facing the harbour with two double beds. For hotel beds, they weren’t the comfiest I’ve slept on but there was no problems with them & I still had a good sleep. There’s a big desk for those on a work trip and a desk lamp that can be adjusted to any angle. The room overall was clean & our favourite part being the view was absolutely gorgeous! The next morning we pulled the big comfy chairs outside, sat in our towels & ate cold pizza while enjoying the view. It was so peaceful, I didn’t want to leave!
If you’re looking for a nice, clean hotel in a splendid location (near Stanley Park, English Bay, walking distance to restaurants/shopping), with a beautiful view, I’d recommend the Pinnacle.
