A thousand hellos to everyone! This is probably going to be my second to last driving lesson post as it’s starting to be wrapped up. I decided to throw these two lessons together because they both include some exciting new things. Since I wasn’t able to write down every single detail from both these lessons, I’ve decided that I’ll give you some of the key points from my memory and checklist.
During lesson five, I was taken to yet again another empty parking. This time, I was instructed on different emergency techniques. Once in the lot, my instructor set up a series of brightly colored orange cones in different arrangements.
The emergency maneuvers included:
- Re-start stalled engine
- Brake failure
- Rear crash avoidance
- Avoidance swerve
- Emergency braking
- Brake and avoid
Surprisingly enough, the avoidance swerve was one of the easier maneuvers and I performed it the best. I was instructed to push the gas to the floor, take my foot of the gas, swerve, swerve again in between two cones and break hard.
***This was originally a draft and I had never post, but for those who were planning on taking lessons I will post this. However as an update, I have had my N for almost 1.5 years and I will be testing for my full license in January.****
